Dyson Vacuum Cleaner – Review

Some products which are extremely useful and worth the price we pay for and Dyson Vacuum Cleaner is one such product. I wasn’t keen on getting a vacuum cleaner until we had meow. When we adopted meow, she had few ticks and in due course it became a menace and we try to pick her ticks by hand, tried medications and nothing worked and was worried she might end up with tick fever or other ailments. I checked what other options we had to avoid this and found many articles which mentioned ticks even though they feed on animals, they live and multiply in areas like carpets, furniture and under beds/sofas and vacuuming these areas regularly can keep the ticks at bay. We have few carpets at home and thought that could be the culprit. Since we also had birds at home and during molting period cleaning was a tough thing. Hence, we decided we will have to get a vacuum cleaner and the question was which one. Husband and I tried researching for a week and all the articles, surveys all ended up Dyson being the best one. Initially I was leaning towards the Roomba Type Vacuum cleaners but the cons are it can’t be used for cleaning ceilings, shelves, furnitures like bed or sofa, its useful if you only wanted it for floor cleaning and that too if you have less furnitures and it can go around freely. So finally concluded that we would get the Dyson V7 Animal version due to cost constraints also. The V10 and V11 are powerful ones and has better features and at the same time might be expensive also. Once we started vacuuming the ticks went away in few days and touch wood for almost two years we don’t have any tick problem at home.

Dyson V7 animal costed approx 25K or so and I would say its worth the price you pay. It comes with 5-6 attachments. The carpet brush is the one I use daily (now twice since we have a puppy at house and needs constant cleaning else she somehow gets something into her mouth) for floor and carpet cleaning especially removes pet hairs. The advantage of this brush, it has its own motor fitted and its extremely powerful is getting all the dust particles. I have been using this for around 2 years now and I can vouch that the machine has been hassle free even with the rough usage.

Few things I like about Dyson is that first and foremost its cordless and takes less space at home. It can be fitted in any corner of the room with wall mounting. For someone like me who keeps the house minimalist this was an advantage. It comes with different attachments other than the carpet cleaner, there is one for bed/sofa cleaner brush, a nozzle for wall corners, two soft brushes for shelves and delicate products. The wall mounting panel has provision to attach few brushes and the entire device can be fitted into a small space. The other thing I like is the suction power, it makes sure even the smaller dust particle is collected. The collected dust can be easily disposed by opening the canister and pushing out the dust.

Full charging takes about an hour or two and can be used for 30 mins of cleaning. I use it daily for about 10 mins and when deep cleaning it would be used for full 30 mins. For more specifications you can visit their website and get to watch their videos for all features. I wanted to only convey on how its been used and how durable it was so that if people are confused on what vacuum cleaner they should buy, this post might be helpful, especially for ones who have pets at home. Unfortunately this model is stopped sometime back I think and there are other newer models available in their site. You would have the option to call for a demo before you decide which one would be useful for you. They also have easy EMI options if you don’t want to spend entirely.
